Read *Atlas Shrugged*

I finished reading the English version of Atlas Shrugged. It is really long and costs me a big amount of time. I have considered giving up reading it many times. Do it until finish it principle pushes me to finish it. Literally, it is the first English fiction I have finished read.

Now, I have arrived in Germany. After a plan executing for a whole 3 years, I achieved my wish. Everything is possible. I waited for one year entirely after quitted my job last July. I KNOW IT IS TRUE. Everyone can comment it, plan it, imagine it, but I really have done it. Without extra explanation, the truth is truth.

This book is also a turning-point, a milestone. Just like what this book expresses, I need to be a little bit extreme, or close to be that.

After quitted my job, I have more time to think, to experience. Busy work robs out our time so that we lack of time and energy to think, to reason, to find logic and happiness. We forget what is happiness, and why we need to work, and why we suffer so much. We are controlled by work, by family, by propaganda from social media, and by social conventions. We have lost the values of experiencing leisure.

This book has argued the contrast between wishing and producing. People who think that what they can get depends on what they need just waits for being given. They think the community that they are in should offer what they need. They ask for the outcomes from other workers. Ayn Rand is really opposed to the community. Because community owns resources but causes laziness to both mind and labor, which reduces production and development. I admit this book only focuses on the bad side of community (ps: I am not aiming at judge this book is good or bad), so I want to see its whole drawbacks thoroughly. When the leaders of a big community realize that their total production is less than only one people, they don’t find the reason but require this person to be silent so that keeping the authority of this community. Then everything happened after that is just filling the imbalance between worker and those wisher. The community neglects the objective rules, and pursues equal allocation without thinking. The final result is everyone in this organization become lazy, and they meet the crisis of lack of available resources. The community, the country keeps exploiting these big companies until they bankrupt.

There is no equality. Human being’s virtue is not trustful. Normal people is lazy, and authorities are creed and corrupted. We musk keep being critical, to reason.

The author wants to explain her philosophy Objectivism totally in this book. I have to say the whole book is terrible. It is so long and full of persuading, and boring. But I as reader really can conclude what she want to demonstrate after reading this book. It is not a good literature product, but it really causes me think very much.
