Sep 2026 Reflection
Okay, let’s start.
This month is fantastic. Everything I wished just comes true. I arrived in Aachen, Germany, and finished my registration of RWTH university, and made some friends, just after waiting for around one year. Now I feel everything is ok. I can accept all of them, whether it is good or bad.
For my decision of studying abroad, it is too early to conclude whether it is a good decision or a bad one. At least until now, it is much better than staying in China with the terrible environment of working.
Some activities I had done this month
- Traveled in Xiamen (5 days).
- Attended the wedding of my high school classmate.
- Finished the book Atlas Shrugged.
- Arrived in Germany.
I prepared a lot for this important studying abroad. Every student who is going to study abroad, absolutely has a long checklist of necessary items. I actually didn’t take much package, only two suitcases and one backpack. After 24 hours of being on the road, I arrived in Aachen. I saw different people, who are friendly, polite and relaxed to work. If my wish is pursuing peace, I guess I will achieve it. Although Germany is becoming lack of competitiveness to market and bureaucracy, it is trade-off with living meaningfully.
I really don’t know whether I would like to stay in Germany after graduation. Everything is slow in Germany (or Europe). So it is hard to guarantee development of industry. People will encounter avoidably the limited development space of profession. As a result, employees will not work hard because of the imbalance between effort and reward. It is true that not everything is blocked. People still can find chances in different industry. Averagely, there is less of chances in Europe than in China or America. But it is not same with the income of living in Europe and other countries. On the other side, great works require idleness. People look for happiness, fun and beauty only when they are boring and idle. Everyone has their own hobbies, or is just obsessed in social media or medicine. Those one who really want to study, improve, grow, and even revolutionize in their industries will have more time to achieve their wishes.
Glance at my two upcoming years
To experience, which is better than to study every day in library, is my goal of my master studying in two years. I don’t know whether I will have chances again to see different nations, culture and people. I can accept the nothing of my final property, but cannot accept the poverty of knowledge and recognition. Ultimately, I’m a kind of animal that cares about human.
